The energy crunch (electricity) in California has been solved – for 12 days that is. Governor Davis has purchased 12 days of electricity for California from the State Tax Surplus at a cost of 1 Billion Dollars. With a State Surplus of 10 Billion our days may be numbered.

But that may not be the immediate problem. It was announced this morning the PG&E will no longer be able to supply natural gas as of Tuesday of next week. Natural gas is used to supply heating, and generate electricity.

President elect George W. Bush has stated he will do noting to help California and he does not believe in “price caps”.

If you are planning a visit to California, do consider bringing your own flashlight and long johns – you may need them. Oh yes, bring plenty of charged batteries for your lap tops.
