I dunno.. There's a fun word I like - scotoma - that indicates a visual 'blind spot'. It's an opthimalogical term actually. Kind of like having that bright spot you get when a flashbulb goes off where you can't see for a few seconds.

I think there's a liberal version of this where they just don't get it as they are blinded by their deeply held prejudices. They blame conservatives automatically for being racists when they have done more actual harm than any other group I'm aware of - for example. Up is down and right is wrong.

Very Orwellian.
