Oops, I was too slow with the keyboard and skipped a part of the sentence. When I said 'in a separate file', I meant 'which would not be the same as the cuckoo egg file', so we'd have one with our functions, and another one with original versions (the renamed .spx).

Not necessarily - I meant flipping between the two procedure files as needed; the scenario didn't explicitly involve going into depth. It would surely help if we had a #define dodefault DoTheOlderVersionOfThisFunction :)
