As Cindy says, I have a lock for my laptop. If you look at the sides, somewhere you'll find a tiny port. You can get a lock that uses it. Mine is a thick coated wire with the lock itself at one end and a loop at the other. I run the wire around a piece of furniture, then put the lock through the loop and into the port. Turn the key and it's more trouble to steal the machine than a thief will want to do. (Think of it as "The Club" for laptops.)

My lock is a Kensington, but I just saw one from Targus or somebody else in Circuit City. I liked the one I saw becuase it was a combination lock instead of a key.
