>>A fellow developer got a contract to devlop a web application and he asked me if I could do it. I picked up several Wrox books on the subject and got to work. Next, I got hired by a major corporation to do ASP development. What I learned from the Wrox books and the first web app prepared me for what I am now doing. Trying to develop major applications using ASP is very time consuming. So far my present app has over 75,000 lines of code and over 50 forms.

PMFJI.
I'm currently developing an ASP app which relies heavily on COM+ components for the heavy duty processing and business rules. It's a great strategy and the performance has been fairly decent. I wouldn't put a lot of heavy business rule/data manipulation coding into ASP - just what you need for the presentation (which can be fairly involved sometimes!) If you have 75,000 lines of code in your ASP, I think you need to re-structure your app.
