Mostly, I am doing SQL-Server work. My interests are in the backend and middle-tier. I like these areas because they are "on the other side.." They are behind the DMZ. The database and the middle tier is where the real-work is done - or should be done.

I still use VFP - for both UI and middle-tier work. The deal is, I don't let that drive the bus. I let SQL Server do that. After I am in the door, if the client will be agreeable to VFP - great. If he want's VB, fine. Either way, my toes are still tapping.

So with that in mind, I side-stepped the whole UI/App language debate entirely.

If I don't ever have to create UI's again, that will be fine by me. Again, the crux of the issue, where the complexities lay are in the DB and middle-tier - and of course, making it all work together.
