Hi!

I tried to do that and failed in one case with success in another. One case was SQL Server 7.0 with connections license (failed with error message that 'per-user licensing on the SQL Server required'). Another was SQL Server 2000 Developer edition, works perfect (I tried both transaction and Merge replication, snapshot seems not supported by MSDE, so I did not tried it at all).

Gonna make off-line working using MSDE? ;)

>I'm reading the docs for MSDE replication and I'm getting conflicting information. In one place, it says that MSDE can be used to replicate with another MSDE server without purchasing a SQL CAL. In another place, I'm reading that in order to do replication you must use SQL Desktop and have a CAL for each side.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
