With the .??X files, you don't want to do this - the ??x/??T are converted to a ??A file by SCCTEXT, which is stored to VSS. If you check out the ??A via VFP, the appropriate ??X/??T are rebuilt according to the content of the ??A file. You can lose changes by checking in the ??X/??T throuhg VSS alone, and not replace/regnerate the ??A - because that's what VFP will end up checking back out.
