Couldn't you use the INSERT - SQL command to insert new records? I have not tried this method with Remote views, but the method seems to work with Local Views. Maybe the two do not behave the same.... Anyway, when I added new records with APPEND BLANK, the primary key was not updated, but when I used INSERT - SQL and initialized the primary key, the Primary key was relayed both to the underlying table as well as to the local view.
