Hi Tyler.

>I have a client that got rid of their .cdx file on their computer. It isn't in the recycle bin either. Is there a way to re-create the .cdx?

Do you have a good copy of the table anywhere (eg. a backup at their site, an old copy at your site)? It doesn't matter if it contains old data, as long as the structure hasn't changed from the current one. If so, copy the CDX to the directory where the missing CDX should be, then use REINDEX to put the most current keys into it.

In the future, you might want to consider using Stonefield Database Toolkit (SDT). It makes this kind of repair a snap -- you simply call an SDT method to recreate corrupted or missing indexes. It can be done as part of an error handling routine, from a menu item, or whereever you want to call it.

SDT does a lot more than that -- check out www.stonefield.com for more information and a demo version.
