Hi Mike,

You might find my error handling classes relevant, since they include a provision for propagating error information across loosely coupled application layers in general. While there is nothing in the design specifically oriented toward the COM-DCOM/OLE Automation scenario, I think the architecture could easily be adapted to such applications, assuming you can pass VFP object references between components.

The ErrHandler forum at http://www.ideaxchg.com/ix07/er/_sys/toccontu.htm includes documentation, downloadable source code and demo application, and a page of references on VFP error handling topics. I just made another update to the programs today, and I'm maintaining this on an ongoing basis. The documentation hasn't quite caught up with all of my recent programming changes, but it's pretty close. My page of general VFP error handling references is rapidly falling behind, as I can see from the other interesting replies to this thread, but I do plan to periodically update this article. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
