thanks for the reply eric, i've tried using a textbox and linking it directly to the field to be updated. however, a new problem arose, whenever i try to update more than 3 records, without using the "refresh" command, an error occurs stating that "too many rows were affected by the update", why is this so? and what is the best remedy, sorry for bothering you again, and thanks!
