Borland (it's back!!!) is about to release Klyx, which is their GUI RAD tool for cross platform delvelopment (Win-Linux). One souce, two compiles.
Supposed to be as rich or richer an environment than VB. I may be giving it a try, since we've gone to Oracle and Java for our new development here.
