>"Georgia's Confederate emblem harks back to the Civil War era, but it was added to the state flag in 1956 by white lawmakers who were determined to maintain segregation in the state in defiance of the burgeoning civil rights movement."

Chris;

That cannot be true - it must be a liberal lie. The Stars and Bars have always been an integral part of every Southerners life. Why, just ask any real Southern Gentleman. By the way, woman should not have the right to vote – that is just foolishness from them liberals and they don’t know nothing! Going further, only proper land owners should have the right to vote – and vote as many times as they wish.

Tradition – that is what the South is all about. Who cares if the tradition is one day or 200 years old. It’s the thought (or lack of) that counts! Segregation is a fine custom.

I saw a Television Interview last week with Jimmy Carter. One of his comments was that Segregation was forced upon the South by the Federal Government in the form of Jim Crow Laws. Can you believe how some people rationalize reality? And this man was President of the United States! Yes, there was no Segration in the South until the Federal Government set things straight between the races.

I want to go back to the “good old days” – last week will do nicely.

By the way I got to see Segregation in action while in the United States Air Force while I was traveling and stationed in the South. It was a shock for someone raised in San Francisco, but the way of life in the South.

Tom
