To follow-up, the University of Kentucky basketball team would not allow any blacks on the team until sometime around 1970. Not that long ago. Of course, they had to get beat by an all black team in the NCAA championship in 1966 to do it, and even then it took them a few more years. There are still people here in the state who claim that the coach, Adolph Rupp, was not a racist. Total BS.

Hell, even look at Bear Bryant at Alabama. How long was it before he would allow blacks on the team?
