I have never used Crystal myself, but some of the people here have and think it's too hard for the end user.
You might try Foxfire (http://www.micromegasystems.com/foxfire/foxfire.htm) or writing your own (which is what we ended up doing). We started with the Report Writer Wizard that ships with VFP.
