>thanks for you response Ken. I took out all of the quotes, commas, slashes, dashes, etc. I don't know if it fixed it or not because the error occurs so seldomly. Also, I can't reproduce it on my machine. It only occurs on the client's machine. Hopefully, this will take care of it. Thanks again!
One thing you'd better check before setting a rowsource is whether the alias got open at all. If your code was supposed to create and populate a cursor, could it be creating nothing under some circumstances? Just try to set the rowsource to "blabla.dum" programmatically and see if you get the same error.
