I'm not sure I understand completely, but I'm assuming that you've set the grid's column and header properties manually. However, if you set these programmatically, there's nothing to keep you from simply calling the routine that sets these.

FWIW, I've always felt that grids and pageframes aren't the easiest objects to sub-class simply because of their complexity. I've developed my own postulate on reusability that addresses this: "Reusability is in direct inverse proportion to complexity". IOW, the more complex an object is, the less reusable. That's why I feel these are difficult to properly sub-class.
