IMHO

It really depends on what kind of website you are designing/developing. My regular job requires me to develop desktop VFP client server applications as well as web applications using VFP classes to generate data intensive web content from large remote data sources. These web apps do not require bells, whistles and otherwise distracting whoop-de-doo but rather information for making important business decisions. VFP is the best tool for what I do during the day.

However, if I take on a web site for a private client who wants high impact state of the art web content with all the tricks that draw Oooo and Ahhh responses from the client, Macromedia is the way to go. (Assuming we are talking about windows) I use Fireworks to create reusable graphical objects which can either be Fireworks, FreeHand, Illustrator, or Photoshop graphics. Also, imported from a twain or digital source. Shockwave, Flash or Director8 for dynamic interactive content and put it all together with Dreamweaver.

FrontPage isn't in the same league with the Macromedia tool set. However, managers like it for the same reason they like VB and ASP. Developers are a dime a dozen.
