There is a bit of a problem when the locks of 2 seperate processes are blocking each other, this could also be what your Oracle guy was talking about.

ROFL....I've worked the corporate scene long enough to realize that more often than not, this is how these decisions are made.....(s)

My main thing about Oracle is the cost. IMHO, this is also the big reason that SS is creeping up in market share.....
