>I'm thinking everything should be legal. That would cut the murder rate down to 0. I also think abortion should be the parent's option up to age 18. Drugs should be given out by the government, free of charge. I would only poison half the drugs and let the dopeheads take their chances! < VBG >

I'm with you guys. I think the biggest problem with alcohol is that it's forbidden until *after* you learn how to handle a ton of rolling metal with entirely too much horsepower. The best thing my parents did for me was to let me and my brothers indulge in too much spiked eggnog one Christmas party. A 12 year old with a hangover never forgets it! Anyway, take away the "forbiddenness," and you take away a lot of appeal for underage drinking. Figure out what alcohol *really* does to you by trying to walk next door while drunk BEFORE you try to drive a car, and you might respect alcohol's influence even more.

It's much easier to OD on drugs than alcohol, so I'd suggest an age limit like 15, so the body is as developed as it's going to get. Again, let 'em get used to it BEFORE they handle a car. And like you say, John, the murder rate would drop to near 0.

Someone told me once to let these people take themselves out of the gene pool, and in a few generations, we won't have much of a problem!
