>Mike, I agree that people should have the right to do what they wish. As long as no one else is affected. I also believe that before one undertakes any major decision they should be informed. With that said, I highly recommend anyone making that kind of decision should visit a rehab center to see what the end result could be. Just my $.02

Visiting a rehab center is a VERY GOOD POINT. We were at a rehab center where my Dad was recovering from an amputation and major complications of the surgery. One of the residents two doors down from Dad was a 19 year old kid, who had been huffing. He was usually parked in his wheelchair outside his room, where he didn't seem to interact much with the world, nor could he really use his body at all. He could acknowledge people's presence with a grunt, but that's about it. Made a huge impact on me and my kids. The nurses really helped out by telling my kids he only huffed ONCE. They still remember him (probably always will), and mention him from time to time. Excellent point, Mike.
