Besides Theme Parks, Downtown Disney is very close from the hotel with a lot of places to go like restaurants (planet hollywood), libraries, movie theaters and a place I really liked called "Treasure Island", you can walk down a street where people is drinking, dancing in groups and listening to rock bands in a main stage, also, new year is celebrated every night at 12:00 am with fireworks and big noise. You only have to pay if you get in I guess it is after 7:00 pm about $17, but also there are like 3-4 discos where admitance is free. A cab from the hotel could cost you 5 bucks or if you go by car, do not arrive later than 7 pm or it'll be really hard to get a place for parking. There's a free boat ride to the inside of some disney resorts. One more place to go is Church Street in downtown Orlando.
