Asif,
I am still maintaining some DOS apps! (The right tool for every job!)
When I retire in 12-15 years I will still be maintaiing VFPx apps! And, possibly, DOS apps. Some project are just too massive to be porting to a new toolkit every couple of years. VFPx may involve only legacy apps by then, but one never really knows. There are currently a couple of efforts in Linux to port VFP capability. (2.x is there, but V is not.) While results aren't there yet, in another five years (well before the end of VFP7's lifetime) you may be able to port prgs, classes and screens to Linux and run your apps relatively unchanged.
