FYI, I figured it out.

In order for the grid to let me read/write to the cursor, I need to specify the cursor name in addition to the field name in the controlsource for each column. I think it has something to do with having multiple tables/cursors open. I, along with several co-workers, have done several tests with favorable results, but we only had one cursor or table open. So, for it to work properly with multiple tables/cursors open, even though the recordsource is set to the cursor, the controlsource must have cursor name in it, too.
