It seems to me that the command which raise the error tries to connect to the default MySQL database, wich is named 'mysql'.

Try to make a permanent connection to the desired MySQL database, then do what you want to do. If doesn't work, be more specific, please.

What do I want to say: I am positive that the command you give in your message works. I've used it many times. Already, I've made an MySQL Upsizing Wizard which use a lot of this kind of statements. And they work. Let me help you in this issue, but you have to be more specific.
