I guess I was confused about what you meant.

When you are running source code fxp's are not created every time a prg is called. Only if the fxp is missing or the prg and fxp have different modified dates. So most likely you wouldn't run into this problem just running the source code. I usually run into this problem after I just finnished running the source code and then I go into the prg to fix some bugs and try to compile it when I'm done, thus recreating the fxp. I always compile prgs before I close them so I have never run into this problem running code. Also the problem is not consistent and only happens to me on occasion. I don't think it would be necessary to check if the file is open, instead just make sure you compile all prgs before you close them (alt+p+m).
