Same reason the French, English, Spanish and many others did. Also, "all" means everyone owned slaves. Did the slaves have slaves too? What about the poor people. Go back and study your history again. Only the wealthy had slaves, and not all slaves were black. So, do you honestly think there is an 18 year old savvy enough to be president? (Granted, we just got rid of one who acted like a 12 year old.)

Yes, and Solomon (he's that Bible guy) said there's nothing new under the sun.

Gee, I wish I knew as much as you. You've seen so much in your <2 decades. So, if you're 18, only 2 years ago did you start driving legally, two to three more years prior you hit puberty. So you are a man now, right?

I remember thinking I was smarter than older people. They just didn't understand. I was "sworn to fun, and loyal to none" as the Hell's Angels say.

Think of life as an assent up a ladder. At 18 you are considerably higher up and have a much better vantage point than a 12 year old. And so it goes, when and if you hit 30, you'll look back and say something like ,"I thought I knew so much. . . ."

I listen to older people, even if I don't like them or if I disagree with them, (sometimes even a democrat). They have seen more than me in many instances. Granted, I've seen things most people don't have to see, and I have a different perspective than most on this forum. I doubt many here have been shot at, spat on, cursed, etc. just because they were doing their job. Ever seen a body with a bullet hole in the forehead, or one that has been laying in a hot house for a week, or countless other mind numbing sights? Probably not, and I wouldn't wish it on you. See there are a few things you don't know and some you would be better off not knowing. Still, others have seen things I haven't and I try to learn from that.

Anyway, the bottom line is this - you aren't as smart as you think you are, and that probably applies to the rest of us as well. It's obvious that you are a bright guy, just misguided. You would do well to study the likes of Madison, Jefferson and company. They didn't set the age limit at 35 arbitrarily.
