Hi All -
I've got a problem that I'm having a difficult time tracking down. I have a screenset made up of 2 screens - sales order header screen is one screen, sales order detail screen is the other screen. If there is one person already in the sales order header screen, the next person that tries to go into that screen gets an error "Record is in use by another" on a SHOW GETS DISABLE command. Several files are open, but only 3 are opened exclusively and none of the other files are locked. Of the three that are opened exclusively, 2 are cursors and 1 is a temporary file stored on the individual user's C: drive.
I have tried SUSPENDING the program when I get the error, then I have tried doing SHOW GET
DISABLE for various fields that appear on the screen, but have had no luck finding the problem. Yet when I try SHOW GETS DISABLE from the command window, I still get the error.
HELP! How can I find what's causing the problem? What other techniques do you suggest I use for isolating the culprit?? What exactly will cause the "Record is in use by another" error?
This problem occurs when running on a Novell network or on a NT network, from Win95 or WinNT workstations.
Thanks so much for your help.
