>Hi Evan,

>>I was having some troubles with my ISP and getting them change my registrar... so I opted to unregister myself from www.internic.net then re-sign up with my ISP (who uses a different registrar). Sadly today I found that www.evandelay.com has been taken by a domain name squatter. I thought this wouldn't happen because who would want my name (my personal name) as a website. The guy probably noticed the choice listing in the Yahoo "Free internet" category. Sigh.

>I have a theory on this. I was approached by a group who claimed they were web site 'instructors' and needed tasks for their students. They said they would give me a cut rate for designing my web site. In the course of the discussion, I revealed what I would like for a domain name. They went away and did a quicky web page (at no cost) as a sample. I think they also used the info I gave them to squat on my domain name.

I would imagine that this guy does a daily query on expired internic names, sees if they have a yahoo listing, then grabs them. I thought I was safe, because I have only found two "Evan Delay"'s on the internet over the years.

1) A 12 year old girl (what the?) that was going on tallship cruise around the word.
2) A guy from San Diego who had place (quite well) in a 10k run.
