I noticed that too! When I finished Basic Training in the Air Force, we traveled throught Memphis, by train and we were wearing our uniforms. We got to stop for several hours and I remember how friendly the people were and how clean the city was in 1960. I walked around the downtown area and found a Amateur Radio Store (one of my hobbies) and went inside and everyone in the store was very nice to a seventeen year old on his way to Orlando, Florida. It was April and the weather could not have been better.

I could give you a list of cities to not wear a military uniform in, including my home town, San Francisco.
