>>YIKES!!! I've never been shot at, but I'm going to Colombia on the 9th with my wife to visit her relatives. I've been told it's pretty dangerous. Colombia is considered the kidnap capital of the world. There were over 3000 abductions by guerillas in 1999 alone! I am a little nervous about it.

>Yeah, you might have an "interesting" trip.

>>As an aside, I've been a serious student of the martial arts for the last ten years. The current style I'm studying, Israeli Survival, is taught by an ex Israeli Special Forces commando. He now trains government agencies on anti-terrorist techniques and body guarding. He works with a group called Instincitve Shooting International. Enventually I will be taking that course to learn firearms. If you are interested his website is http:\\www.survivalhisardut.com.

>That url didn't work. I never took any formal martial arts. I roomed with a guy was a Navy Seal for a year and learned a lot from him. He is now an actor. As a matter of fact, he was in Tom Selleck's TNT movie last week. Got killed again. (He played a character named Snake) I was fortunate enough to go through a weeks intensive SWAT training at the Mid-South Survival Shooting Institute a few years back. That was some of the best firearms training I've had. They teach Seal teams, Green Beret, Rangers, British SAS and SWAT teams from all over. My latest specialized instruction has been attending a yearly session in Verbal Judo from the Verbal Judo Institute. It teaches you to use your mind and how to gain voluntary compliance.
www.verbaljudo.com One of their basic tenets is - Words that rise naturally to the tongue are not good. How's that for a tidbit of wisdom?
I just checked out that site and ordered the audio cassettes. Thanks!
