Installation et configuration
Hi Tom,
Will I lose any operational efficiency by not having the runtime files on both computers? If not, I much rather install everything on computer one only.
I'm hoping that whomever sets up my client's network, will setup the shared folders and map the drive.
Believe me, I wish I had a second computer to test this on. I'm working in the dark here by only using one computer. Unfortunately, my budget is a little tight, so I can't afford a second computer at the moment. However, I'm hoping to purchase a second computer in the spring.
Since I have your attention, I have another quick question. I've developed the application and installation on Windows 98. The installation is being created with the VFP Setup wizard. Since I created the installation in Windows 98, Will there be any problems if this application is installed on Windows NT, Millenium, or Windows 2000? For example, do I need to create the installation on a Windows 2000 machine in order for it to install correctly on a Window's 2000 machine? I'm asking this because with another application of mine, I came across a few problems with Windows 95 and Windows 2000. Most installations worked, but there were a few unexplained problems (error messages, corrupted files, and failed installations. Would I be better off using the Visual Studio installer?
Thanks for your help,
Dave..:)
