Once again it's time for our monthly FoxPro User Group meeting. The meeting will be at the Federal Reserve Bank Building in Dallas at 7pm, Thursday February 1st. Check our website at
http://www.dfwfpug.org for a map if you're not familiar with the area.
There will be 3 topics this month:
John Naab will present a brief presentation on building an e-mail app with a third party Active X control from SocketTools, including personalizing the message with "FoxFusion", a bit of code that emulates Cold Fusion! In fact, this message was sent out using the code described.
Chris Howden will present a brief discussion of how to use project hooks to compile different versions of an application.
The main topic, presented by Randy Barnett with Tamlin Software Developers, Inc., is developing a solution using an object oriented or "Data Driven Database" in Visual FoxPro. The database is self-describing, flexible and was designed to fit a special need in a manufacturing environment. This design helped solve the dilemma of changing user requirements and project scope creep. A demonstration of the database logic and user interface will be included.
