Tom,

If you have an "invitation to apply" rather than a job offer, then go ahead and apply. Someone may come out of the woodwork that is a better candidate than you and you may have your decision made for you.

Another thing you can do to help make up your mind once they actually offer you the job is ask for a rather high salary. If they take your offer, the high salary alone may be enough to convince you.

Third, evaluate the company. You don't want to leave a secure job for an e-business that will fold soon.

Fourth, will there be opportunities for you to code or work with hardware there, either now or in the future when you are promoted to be an IT manager because you have experitse in all 3 areas?

Best of luck.

>I just received a quiet invitation to apply for a full-time webmaster position, but I am a coder with a good background in hardware. I am just not sure if this is a good step or a bad step or a lateral step. Any thoughts?
