Yeah, if you're doing some good works...

As you may remember, I didn't vote for Dubya. But giving government money to established and effective charities is an excellent idea. One I had some years ago. And that includes faith-based charities.

The problem with many government attempts to help the needy is 1) bureaucracy, and 2) the impersonal nature. Funneling the money through organizations that are caring for the needy because they have a passion to do so avoids both of those problems.

Of course if folks like you get in line, I guess we are going to need some controls...
