Why not use a utility like QuicKeys? That way the user can define any key stroke they prefer to pull up menus. BTW, you can have menus stay down as in in Windows by setting "Sticky = ON" in the config.fpm file and then use Ctrl+Option key combination to emulate Windows behavior.
