Kevin,

>I may in the near future be offered the chance to study for a MCP exam, however, I would like some advice from you MCP's out there on the following questions:
>
>How long (roughly) would you say it takes to achieve the relevant skills to pass the exam.

I'm sure I was the exception rather than the rule. I passed the 70-156 exam in Beta 13 months after "opening the box" of VFP6. Previous experience was two years in FPW.

>Is there a VFP7.0 exam yet - if not, should I hold on and wait until there is one, or will I be OK studying for VFP6.0?

Study VFP6. There has not been an exam for every version of VFP. Exams don't come out immediately, and the cert is valid for a year after an exam retires.

>Did any of you come across any problems with regards not having the available resources to achieve certain parts of the exam (ie MTS,MSMQ etc.)

I had only VFP6. No MTS, no MSMQ, no Source Safe. You do have all the docs available to you online, and there are more study materials available than there were when I took the exams.

>Are there any specific quailities one would require?

I discuss this in the Introduction to our book (http://www.hentzenwerke.com/catalog/certfox6.htm), especially in the "Think like Bill" section. ;-)

>Responses very much appreciated.
>If there is a good website that can answer these, then just point me in the right direction
>Thanks
