I know that some doctors do support it, as evidenced in California and Oregon. You have written that most doctors do not support it. Where are you getting this information?

I like beer and wine, and bourbon while at the Kentucky Derby < g >. Yes, we are the authors of our own destruction, whether it be alcohol, pot, crack, tobacco, obesity, etc.
While there is certainly collateral damage from hard-core drugs such as crack and heroin, there is also a great deal from alcohol, including drunk-driving deaths, domestic violence, fetal alcohol syndrome, etc.
To me, this all goes to personal liberty. I don't want the government deciding that I can't drink because some people abuse it. I don't want the government telling people they can't smoke tobacco because it is a health threat. And I don't want the government telling people with debilitating illnesses that they can't find some relief from smoking pot.
My argument boils down to this: get the government off my back.
