Tom,
Just ran across this:
http://washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A13355-2001Feb1.htmlIn it the following is found:
'Some religious leaders and others had complained that two prominent prayers at Bush's inauguration were offered in the name of Jesus, rather than in the name of God in general.
The Rev. Barry Lynn, a United Church of Christ minister andexecutive director of Americans United for the Separation of Church andState, called the inaugural prayers "inappropriate and insensitive."'
So, this fellow, Barry lynn, essentially is asserting that it's ok to pray but only the way he wants. So much for his tolerance. Maybe, in return, I should assert that something he believes is equally 'inappropriate and insensitive'. Do you think he'll stop? I doubt it and that's why using hurt feelings makes for bad rules/law.
Best,
DD
