If you haven't sign a contract where you agree to not use the knowledge you may achieve when completing the customer application process, there is no law or paragraph in earth that shows or define any dependency to your previous (development work) customer and not to profit your previous work. Not in EU and as far as I and my fellow law expert (USA) knows either in USA.
