Never had the nerve nor time to get my fingertips hardened enough, and it damn hurts :). I played some accordeon when I was between 8 and 10, and some flute and block flute around my 18th year, but never played for real (with band, audience etc). This musical experience, though, left me so far from tone deaf, that I can perfectly hear how awful I sound when I try to sing, so I don't :)
