I know there are times when one needs to resort to C/C++ or VB to accomplish things that are awkward or impossible to do otherwise, but that doesn't justify their use for the other 99% of the application. The primary reason I'm so entrenched in the Microsoft development environment is VFP. If MS neglects VFP, or if they simply allow the market for VFP consulting to evaporate, I ain't gettin into that boat again! VFP is the only thing that keeps me loyal to Microsoft. I'm just hoping that Java will have evolved to something as solid and refined as VFP by the time I'm forced to make the switch.
