I'm in the process of writing a FoxPro 6.0 COM application for MTS. It has to be stateless, and there will most likely be a user authorization for each transaction in the database.

I'm currently trying various methods of retrieving data, and I was wondering which way would be best, considering that it now runs on a VFP DBC but it will most likely migrate to MS SQL server or Oracle. The application should require as little transformation as possible.

The DLL is invoked by an ASP page which will give me something like: I want from the table 'person' page 2 sorted by 'name' where the number of records is 15 per page. ASP will convert the returned values to HTML code.

All options are open and none have been crossed out yet. This is more a "user's experience" question rather than a technical question.
