Hmmm....

First, I'd make sure that the checkbox in Tools/Options that reads, Always Use MS-DOS Format Filenames was not checked. It's on the View tab. That is supposed to be the same as setting the variable you set. This will make sure you've set it correctly.

What operating system are you running? Win 95/98?

>I'm using Visual source safe. I have some files that have longer names that the 8-3 combo. When I add them to Visual Source Safe, the file name is truncated to XXX~1.XXX. I sent LONG_FILENAME = YES in the USER\MyName directory in the SS.INI file, but it still does this. When I Share files the short name ends up in the next project and if I get latest version my working files show the short name. Am I missing something?
