Hi Bill,

So you and I are in the same boat. I still have small hope that someone will come along and provide the magic bullet.

My problem is that I frustrate too easily I guess, especially when I find myself with excessive mouse-chasing for nothing! It sure feels like another MS application more designed to provide mouse exercises than to be helpful.

It is even worse when I am quite sure that the information *must* be in there somewhere.

Thanks,

JimN

Then I find that they are related specifically to things like MSOffice or SQL Server or ACCESS - usually anything except what I am looking for.

>>I have tried to restrict the scope by setting the "Active Subject" but that is actually harder to work with - it still presents ALL items, greying those that aren't part of the scoped set. This usually results in most of the list being greyed and the ungreyed stuff usually isn't applicable (as above).

>I don't think there is a way to make it more "friendly" ... after all, it is MS. Just kidding. :-) I use a combination of the Contents, the Index with both specific Subjects and the entire list, and the Search. My prior knowledge ( or what I think I know :-) ) guides which I use and sometimes I have to try all three to find what I'm looking for. I'm afraid we just have to bite the bullet and keep looking until you find your info or ask someone who may be able to provide enough details to narrow it down.
