Must have been one of Mr. Cosell's more sober moments. I liked it when Alex Karas would argue with Mr. Cosell. Alex has class and guts to tell off Mr. C. That is why Alex got fired - that and the fact thet Mr. C.'s wife was an ABC exucetive, which got Mr. C. the job in the first place. Cosell had a cigar. That was the best thing about Cosell.

One Monday Night Football game, in the middle of an exciting play, good old Howard interrupts the action to announce: This reminds me of the such and such game in 1916 when so and so did such and such and etc. Sorry, I cannot remember the names but the dialogue is accurate. Alex told him no one was interested it what he had said and he had interrupted the commentary of the play. Mr. C. could care less - he was drunk as usual and enjoying himself.
