After having upgraded I made some minor changes to the application--nothing to do with the ActiveX controls or that particular form. I created a setup routine using the setup wizard after recompiling and installed this on the machine that had been running the app without any problems for some time.

I had the same problem with the E-MAIL active X which is MSMAPI32.OCX. I updated that file on the user machine and everyone was OK but then I reinstall the application using the setup wizard just to be sure that the registry was updated.

In your case it sounds like you need to update Mscomm32.ocx, check the dates on your machine and the users.
