Doug;
I worked at one company for 15 years as an electronic engineer. One guy I know well hired on at the same time. Within the 15 year period this guy quit and was rehired three times. He made much more than we did as each time he was rehired it was at a higher rate. Our corporation did not like to give raises. Our joke was – we should be like this guy and quit every two or three years and then come back – then we would be making more money.
In your case your skill set has increased, as has your marketability as an employee. If you are not happy start looking around. One thing I tell people about employment – you can work for the worst company in the world and if you have a good manager/supervisor you will enjoy your work experience. You can work for the best company in the world and if your boss is an ass you may as well be in hell.
