Telecommuting opens up so much opportunity for employers that many of them don't realize. All of a sudden you go from only being able to hire local people to a nationwide recruitment with no relocation problems. I really don't understand in this day of email, live chat, video confrencing and the like why so many employers are so vehemetly opposed to it.
>So what do we do as faithful employees to show them the light? Or do we just do like so many others, and keep moving from job to job. Telecommuiting is nice ( I do some of that on the side too) but most employers still need to be informed as to it's advantages, and the methodology they can use to measure an employee's production in that environment. Only then will telecommuting for applications developers get into high gear, instead of the present niche and part time market.
